Access to Higher Education
Access courses do exactly that. They allow people who may not possess the necessary university entry requirements to return to the classroom and progress on to a degree course after completing this one year qualification.
Riverside Colleges Access to HE programmes are an exciting way to get back into education and prepare yourself for studying at university level.
You will be advised and assisted to help you select the most appropriate programme for your needs. Previous qualifications are not a necessity but will be taken into consideration.
Your life skills, previous employment and prior achievements will also be taken into consideration. Access to HE programmes value these life experiences, and the course will help you to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to prepare you for University.
Access Pathways take one year to complete.

"I came to Riverside College to study the BTEC National Diploma in Sports Development and Fitness and planned to go to university once I completed the course. When my tutors told me about the Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching here, I realised the course was exactly what I was looking for, and decided it would save me money staying at home.
The Foundation Degree in sport is a really good opportunity to enter into sport at an advanced level. The College has provided great support, and you get to study a wide range of subjects, so you actually get to incorporate your experience when you're delivering coaching sessions.
Once I've finished the course I am going to Edge Hill University to complete the full BA Honours in Sports Coaching as I would like to be a PE Teacher."
