What is this course about?
This course will give you an introduction into the exciting career of a barista. You will work in our training Restaurant, preparing, creating and serving a wide range of hot and cold drinks. Theory assignments will give you the underpinning knowledge to assist your understanding of the topics within practical areas.
What will I learn on this course?
You will be involved in both practical & theory sessions which include, knowledge of the coffee & tea industries, health & safety, teamwork, preparing & serving a variety of hot & cold beverages and identifying how to improve your employment opportunities in the catering industry.
19+ You will need to be assessed at Level 1 for English and E3 for maths or have the equivalent GCSE grades. You will also be considered if you have the relevant qualifications and/or experience within the industry. You may be required to attend an interview.
What will this course lead on to?
This qualification could help you get a job as a barista or move forward in your current job role. You may also wish to progress onto a level 2 professional cooking course or a level 2 professional food and beverage service qualification.
How will I be assessed?
During your programme you will be assessed by observation of your practical skills, short answer papers, supplementary questions and completion of a portfolio.
Are there any costs associated with this course?
The costs associated with the course you will need a black restaurant apron cost £6.50. Black shirt, enclosed black shoe.

You will be working in a newly refurbished and very popular restaurant Scholars. All practical sessions will help give you the practical skills, confidence and the overview of working within a busy barista cafe.
