At the school of Creative Arts and Media students can choose to study a wide range of subjects including art, graphics, fashion, photography and TV and film production.

Students will benefit from the expertise of our highly experienced staff who are practising artists with exceptional industry links and who achieve 100% pass rates year after year. The School of Art and Media gives students unique opportunities to showcase their work through our industry links which include TATE Liverpool, Media City, Clothes Show Live, Liverpool John Moores (one of the top Art departments in the UK), Metal Gallery, Hazelhurst Studios, London Fashion Week and Waterfront Magazine along with extensive visits to exhibitions, events and galleries.

Entry Requirements

Level 3/4
Successful completion of an Art A Level or equivalent in the subject. You will also need to attend a Creative Arts portfolio event.
Level 3
A minimum of 5 A*- C GCSE subject grades or equivalent, including English language and an art-related subject or portfolio of work.
Level 2
A minimum of 4 A* – D GCSE subject grades or equivalent, including English language or maths, and an art-related subject or portfolio of work.
Level 1
A minimum of 4 A* – E GCSE subject grades or equivalent, including English language and an art-related subject or portfolio of work.

At Cronton Sixth Form College you can progress through the levels from level 1 to level 3 and beyond with our Foundation Art courses.

By achieving qualifications in Creative Arts and Media you will be able to start your career in one of the most exciting and innovative industries. Careers include: artist, interior designer, TV and film producing, photographer, graphic designer, journalist, fashion designer, stylist or fashion buyer, the list is endless.

Following the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma’s you can progress on degrees in areas such as fine art, graphics, photography, digital arts and fashion.

Nearly all art and design related degree courses require students to complete the Foundation Art qualification in addition to their level 3 BTEC or A level qualifications. We offer this programme at Cronton Sixth Form College to our level 3 and A level art students.
