What is this course about? This is a natural progression route for students who have already completed the Level 2 beauty therapy qualification. On the course you will organise events and learn how to sell products and services. The units include treatments such as facial and body electrical treatments, microdermabrasion, body massage and stone therapy massage. You will also complete a work placement to improve your employability skills.

Entry Requirements 16/18: Completion of Level 2 in Beauty, plus a minimum of GCSE Grade 9 – 3 including English Language and Maths. You will also need to attend a trade test and an admissions interview. 19+: A full level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy completed within the last 3 years is essential unless you have been working within the industry. Level 2 English and Level 1 Maths on assessment. You may also be required to complete a trade test and admissions interview.

How will I be assessed? You will be assessed by on-going practical assessments throughout the programme, tests may be required to complete units and check knowledge, also you will have to complete projects and produce a portfolio of your work.
Are there any costs associated with this course? The course requires a full kit (costs for the level 3 kit to be confirmed for 2018) and a Tunic top (approximately £25 plus postage and packing), you must also wear full length black trousers and a full black shoe. You will have to provide files etc. for your course work and photographic evidence is required for practical assessments. 19+: Please enquire about the cost of this course starting in 2018. If you are in receipt of certain benefits or are starting your first full level 2 or 3 course (conditions apply) your fees may be free. If you are 24 or over and studying a level 3 qualification you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. These loans will cover the full course fee for the duration of your course. This means you do not have to pay any money up front, and you will not make any repayments until you are earning over £21,000 per year.
Facilities: At the Centre of Excellence for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy we have recently refurbished contemporary facilities, including four hairdressing salons, four beauty salons, media make up studio. This provides students with the opportunity to run their own salons and showcase their skills to the public.
