What is this course about? This training course is endorsed by one of the leading employers of nail services in the world.. This qualification is designed to develop higher level skills for a career as an advanced nail technician. Through demonstrations and working on clients in the colleges industry salons, you will learn highly developed nail enhancement techniques which includes 3D nail art services, gel nail systems, liquid and powder nail enhancements and creative nail structures. Your practical skills are combined with the study of business and promotional services.

Entry requirements: 16/18: A Level 2 qualification in Nail Services completed in the last 3 years, unless you have been working within the industry. Please note there will be a trade test and an admissions interview as part of the admissions process.
19+: A Level 2 qualification in nail services completed in the last 3 years, unless you have been working within the industry. Also a good level of English is required. Please note there will be a trade test and an interview as part of the admissions process.
What will this course lead on to? Career opportunities as a nail technician on cruise ships with Steiner, Nail bars, Spas, Beauty Salons or progression on a teaching or training qualification (depending on experience).

How will I be assessed?
You will be carrying out assessments throughout the year in preparation for your end of year practical assessment . You will also be assessed on your theory knowledge throughout the year, which will help prepare you for your final written test at the end of your course
Are there any costs associated with the course? The course requires a full kit (prices to be confirmed for 2018) and and a tunic (approximately £25.00 plus postage and packing), you must also wear full length black trousers and a full black shoe. You will have to provide files etc. for your course work and photographic evidence is required for practical assessments. 19+: Please enquire about the cost of this course starting in 2018. If you are in receipt of certain benefits or are starting your first full level 2 or 3 course (conditions apply) your fees may be free. If you are 19 or over and studying a level 3 qualification you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. These loans will cover the full course fee for the duration of your course. This means you do not have to pay any money up front, and you will not make any repayments until you are earning £21,000 per year.
Facilities: At the Centre of Excellence for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy we have recently refurbished contemporary facilities, including a nail salon, three hairdressing salons, three beauty salons and two media make up studios. This provides students with the opportunity to run their own salons and showcase their skills to the public.
