What is this course about?
This course is ideal for anyone who wants to work as an electrician. On the course you will learn, develop and practice the skills required to succeed in this industry.
This Level 1 course will develop practical and theoretical electrical skills covering topics such as electrical science, installation of wiring systems and communication within the building services / engineering industry.

4 GCSEs at grades 9 – 3 including English Language and Maths. You will also need a good understanding of science to complete this course. You will be expected to have an interest in electrical installation.
What will this course lead on to?
On successful completion of this course you could progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation. Alternatively, you could also apply for an electrical apprenticeship.
What will I learn on this course?
On this course you will learn how to work safely and competently in an electrical Installation environment and develop the practical skills essential for employment in the industry.
You will also have tutorial sessions which will involve 1 to 1 discussions with your personal tutor to monitor your progress and support you during your course.
You may have the opportunity to represent the College in national competitions such as UK Skillbuild. You will also take part in trips. Enrichment activities include 5 a side football, model car racing, practical projects, Guitar club and many more.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a number of modular assessments, production of a portfolio of evidence and observations during practical sessions.
