What is this course about?
This course is suitable for those who wish to expand their manicure and pedicure qualification to gain a nail technology qualification. This course will allow you to develop practical skills within our nail studio on the application and removal of artificial nails using different systems.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout your course by practical observation and your theoretical understanding will be assessed through the completion of an assignment/tests. You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence which may include photographic evidence.
*Please note: You may be required to attend an assessment day/evening if you are selected by the awarding body, external verifier – failure to attend could lead to your certificate being withheld until you are seen be the external verifier
What are the Entry Requirements?
Beauty Therapy Level 2 qualification or Stage 1 of the Nail Technician course or a recognised manicure/pedicure qualification or have experience of working as a nail technician. In addition working at Level 1 in English on our college assessment or GCSE minimum grade D/3 or Level 1 English qualification.

Are there any more costs associated with this course?
You will require a NSI KIT £95.00 and a tunic( if required) £25.00 (costs subject to change for 2022). You will also need black trousers, black low-heeled shoes and an artificial nails kit. You will have to provide a lever arch file etc. for your course work and photographic evidence is required for practical assessments. We will advise you of where and when to purchase your kit when we call you to enrol on the course.
What will this course lead on to?
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress onto the Level 3 Artificial Nail course, a Beauty or Makeup Level 2 qualification. You may wish to pursue a career as a nail technician in a beauty salon, nail bar or become self-employed.
