Online LCR Preparation for Working in the Care Sector – Level 2

What is this course about?
This flexible online programme aims to provide you with face-to-face online teaching, including support from your tutor to complete tasks to create a portfolio of evidence. You will learn the skills, knowledge, and behaviours that you will need to work within a care setting, enabling recruitment into the sector and be better prepared for the demands of the role.
The programme offers you the opportunity to gain core skills by engaging with content that reflects the employer’s needs in the care sector. Providing help or care to those in need offers a great sense of achievement. Studying towards a health and social care qualification with us is the first step in becoming part of an essential and worthwhile sector.
How does this online Learning course work at Riverside College?
Your enrolment will take place over the telephone, where you will also be given all the information required to log on to your live lessons.
The lessons will be delivered online by your tutor, who will be able to support your learning during the course.
This course is scheduled to take place in the afternoon or evening, once enrolled you will log on to your designated session only, however, the sessions will be recorded for you to watch back if you are not able to attend.
There will be practical assessments in college during the course which will be arranged within government guidelines.
Programme overview:
The 12-week programme provides full online training with experienced tutors in the topics that make up supporting standards towards the Care Certificate, including training on the expected Code of Conduct and the ‘6Cs’. During the duration of the course, you will complete a portfolio evidencing your knowledge of the standards. This would then support rapid completion of the Care Certificate upon entering employment.

Course Fee:
This course is FREE for residents of the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, St Helen’s, Sefton, Wirral), regardless of your individual circumstances.
If you live outside of the Liverpool City Region course fees apply, the fee for this course is £399.
What will you need to complete this course?
You will need wifi connection and a device (Laptop or tablet) to join the live lessons on Microsoft Teams.
