Creative Nails and Makeup students prepare for WorldSkills UK Competition
Four students from Riverside College are ready to compete against other talented students from across the region next week as they prepare to take part in the regional WorldSkills Beauty competition in Manchester College.
Emma Littler and Kelsey Horn who are currently studying on the Level 2 Media Makeup course will be joined at the competition by Claire Swift and Chloe Wooliscroft who are both studying on the Level 3 Nails course to try and secure a place in the finals of the prestigious competition later in the year.
The students have all been preparing since finding out that they had all qualified for the WorldSkills UK regional heats. They were given the competition guidelines and have been researching unique and creative ways to interpret the brief requirements in order to showcase all of the skills they have learnt during their time at college.
The students are all delighted with the success they have had in reaching this stage of the competition and are hoping to progress further.
Claire Swift said, “I entered the WorldSkills competition as it will help me progress in my career and will look great on my CV. To get through to the next stage would be amazing.”
We wish them the best of luck next week.
