Catering Students Shine at Dobbies Garden Centre
Catering and Hospitality students at Riverside College have had the opportunity to gain valuable work experience during their first few weeks of study, helping out with a special autumn launch event at Dobbies Garden Centre.
The college were invited to take part following a hugely successful ‘Ladies Night’ event last year in which Hair, Beauty, Media Makeup and Nail students provided a host of treatments for the public.
This year Catering and Hospitality students had the opportunity to impress as they greeted visitors with a complimentary drink on arrival and handed out food and drink samples from a range of products during the popular evening.
This was the first of three events at Dobbies Garden Centre for the students; they will also take part in two more during November including an exciting Christmas themed event.
Centre of Excellence in Hospitality and Catering Tutor Joanna Leather said “Our students have really enjoyed taking part in this fantastic event and have gained lots of professional customer service experience whilst working under pressure. We look forward to taking part in the next two events in November.”
Students who took part; Phillip Carruthers, Cian Parker-Hall, Cobi Campbell, Kyle O’Dwyer, Kayleigh Worth, Imogyn Ireland, Jordon Birch.
