Creative Students Show Their Support for NHS
Students at Riverside College studying Hair, Beauty, Nails and Media Makeup courses showcased their wide range of skills during the lockdown period while proudly demonstrating their support for our NHS in creative ways.
Studying from home during this challenging time, the students received many tasks and activities to further their skillset and progress on their course.
One of the highlights has been a brilliant rainbow eye make-up tutorial by MAC Make-up artist Holly Fitzsimons, who kindly recorded a video tutorial for our students to follow. The tutorial challenged students to complete a full face of makeup using various contours, followed by a rainbow eye design to show support for our NHS workers.

Students also continued to develop their skills from home with a series of exciting competitions that outlined the admirable work carried out by the NHS and all front-line workers during this time.
Beauty Therapist Tutor Jill Welsh said “It’s incredibly important for all of our students to continue to complete the work set for them at home and maintain a steady progression until the College reopens, which they have done brilliantly.
“It is also so heart-warming to see them showing their support for all front-line workers and our NHS with their lovely designs.”
