Work Experience Leads to Jobs for Catering Students
Catering and Hospitality students at Riverside College took part in three special events at Dobbies Garden Centre which led to fantastic work experience and part time jobs for three students.
The college were invited to take part in the events following a hugely successful ‘Ladies Night’ event last year in which Hair, Beauty, Media Makeup and Nail students provided a host of treatments for the public.

This year Catering and Hospitality students had the opportunity to impress, firstly taking part in an ‘Autumn Launch’ event in September, then helping at the ‘Bonfire Night’ and ‘Christmas Menu Launch’ events in November.
The students impressed so much that three of them, Brandon Lowe, Cobi Campbell and Chloe Berry, secured part time jobs at Dobbies working in the busy restaurant.
Centre of Excellence in Hospitality and Catering Tutor Joanna Leather said “Our students really enjoyed taking part in the three events and they have gained some really valuable work experience and customer service skills. Brandon, Chloe and Cobi have done very well to secure employment; their professionalism shone throughout and I am very proud of them.”
