      Riverside College is the nation’s No.1 for the 4th year running!

      On Thursday 21st January 2016 the Department for Education (DfE) published its performance tables.

      These tables show that Riverside College is the top further education college in the country on all three of its measures of vocational education. This is the fourth year running Riverside has topped a national DfE performance table.

      VOCATIONAL POINTS SCORE PER STUDENT – National GFE and Tertiary Top 10

      1 Riverside College Halton 742.0
      2 Runshaw College 741.7
      3 Nelson and Colne College 694.0
      4 Worthing College 669.2
      5 Newcastle-under-Lyme College 663.5
      6 Truro and Penwith College 661.4
      7 Salford City College 659.4
      8 Bury College 653.1
      9 Stanmore College 638.0
      10 Stoke-on-Trent College 635.2

       
      The tables show Riverside is:

      • No 1 in the country for vocational points score per entry

      (The average score per examination entered)

      • No 1 in the country for vocational points score per student

      (The average score per student)

      • No.1 in the country for vocational added value

      (How much the College adds to the grade a student would have been expected to achieve given their previous qualifications)

      • The average grade for a vocational student is a Distinction Star (The highest grade available which is equivalent to A* at A level)

       
      Mary Murphy, Principal, said: “We are delighted to have been ranked as the number one further education college in the Country in the DfE league tables for the fourth year running.  This achievement demonstrates the outstanding teaching and learning we have at the college. Our dedicated staff work with our students to help them reach their full potential and they are given every opportunity to progress into higher education, training or employment”.
