Angel Tree donated by Riverside College
Staff and students at Riverside College have come together for the fourth year to contribute to an ‘Angel Tree’ for the Changing Lives, Halton Domestic Abuse Service charity.
The Angel Tree was arranged by counselling tutor Rosie Owen. Rosie created Christmas tags for the tree to make sure that presents were donated for boys and girls of all ages. Staff and students then chose a tag and purchased a gift for under the tree.
After hearing about the project a local business also contributed to the Riverside College Angel Tree by donating £300 worth of toys. Hundreds of presents have been donated to the project over the past few weeks and they were all packed up and delivered to the centre in time to be distributed before Christmas.
Jacki Murphy, Manager for Women’s Services Merseyside Changing Lives said, “We are always so grateful for all of the efforts put in by our partners in the community. Christmas is such a difficult time for families in refuge, so it is lovely to know people are thinking of us.”
