Riverside Beauty Student Inspires as Skills Champion
After winning a gold medal at the WorldSkills UK finals, Riverside College Beauty student Chloe Woolliscroft is now inspiring others to achieve competition success in her role as a Skills Champion.
The talented student achieved Gold success in the WorldSkills UK finals in 2018 in the Nail Technician category. Held at the NEC Birmingham, Chloe beat competitors from colleges across the nation to prove she is the best in her discipline.
Following competition success, Chloe was invited by WorldSkills to become a Skills Champion, representing both WorldSkills UK and Riverside College at major events and educational visits held all over the UK.
The purpose of the role is to inspire college students and school pupils to compete at major competitions and think about future career options by learning about the 70 plus WorldSkills categories available.
Chloe has been able to share her competition experiences and demonstrate the high standard of work required while attending exhibitions, WorldSkills events and school/college visits.
Commenting on her Skills Champion role, Chloe said, “I have really enjoyed the experience so far, it has been wonderful to inspire so many young people to choose the right career pathway that suits them.
“Riverside College have been very supportive and have encouraged me to take part in all of the WorldSkills training sessions alongside my studies. The role has helped me to not only develop my technical skills, but my personal skills such as confidence and public speaking. It has been very rewarding and I am excited for the next year’s events.”
