Riverside College Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2020
Riverside College has enjoyed a brilliant week of events and industry talks to highlight the achievements and successes of the College’s apprentices, all in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 2020.
The themes of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week were ‘Fire it Up’ and ‘Look Beyond’. In relation to this, the week commenced at Cronton Sixth Form where employers from across the Liverpool City Region joined College apprentices for an interactive networking event, hosted by Halton Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise. The session provided employers with information about the apprenticeship process and the benefits an apprenticeship can bring to a company.
Throughout the week, the college released a series of videos with current apprentices who talked about what they love about their apprenticeship, plans for the future, tips they have for others applying and their time at Riverside College. These videos profiled Macy Dyer Business Administration and Customer Service Apprentice at Koura, Megan Clough, Welding Apprentice at Shearfab LTD and Tony Ierston Painting and Decorating Apprentice at Bell Group.
To top off a fantastic week, Riverside College hosted an Apprentice of the Year Award Ceremony to honour the remarkable efforts and outstanding achievements of their apprentices, with special guest Madam Mayor Councillor Margaret Horabin presenting the awards.
Jayne Smith, Head of Skills and Enterprise at Riverside College said” National Apprenticeship Week 2020 was a fantastic opportunity to showcase and celebrate how apprentices bring new energy and passion into organisations.
“At Riverside College we work with all types of high profile local and national employers to deliver apprenticeships of exceptional quality. It was so encouraging to hear so many employers highlighting the benefits of apprenticeships at the network event and promoting their future vacancies.”
