Christmas Employer Forum meets Gold World Skills Medallist

Hair and Beauty business owners met on December 5th at Riverside College’s Christmas employer forum, hosted in Scholars Restaurant. Employers met with Kerry Wilkinson from the Hair and Beauty Centre of Excellence at Riverside College, who was placed first at the national World Skills UK Competition scooping a gold medal.

The forum gave industry specialists the opportunity to hear Kerry’s World Skills journey and discuss how the College could continue to develop students with high level skills needed by the sector.

Head of Skills and Enterprise, Jayne Smith also outlined the range of funding and grants the College can help employers to access in order to develop their existing staff and recruit new apprentices. The forum will meet again in the New Year.
