Course overview:
This qualification is designed to help learners develop their knowledge and understanding of the key principles of caring for individuals living with dementia. It explores important topics including person-centred care, the impact of effective communication, considerations surrounding the use of medication, and the value of providing meaningful and appropriate activities. This qualification provides the underpinning knowledge and understanding required for those working in, or aspiring to work in, dementia care roles.

Assessments:

• Unit 1: Dementia Awareness
• Unit 2: The person-centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia
• Unit 3: Understand the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia
• Unit 4: Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care
• Unit 5: Understand the administration of medication to individuals with dementia using a person-centred approach
• Unit 6: Understand behaviour in the context of dementia
• Unit 7: Understand the benefits of engaging in activities in social care

This qualification aims to:

• Assist learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of the principles of caring for those with dementia.

The objective of this qualification is to:

• Develop learner’s knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to perform effectively in a dementia care role.

Studying via Remote E-Learning means you can choose when and where you study. We ensure that you get all the support you need throughout your course in the form of a personal tutor.

To help you stay on track, you will be provided with unit submission deadlines. Your first unit must be submitted within four weeks of your enrolment date.
