Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism

Course overview:
This qualification is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of autism. Successful completion of this qualification will allow learners to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of autism, which would support progression into employment within education or the health and social care sector.

Assessments:

• Unit 1: Autism in context
• Unit 2: Positive behavioural support for individuals with autism
• Unit 3: Understand support and management of transitions for individuals with autism
• Unit 4: Therapeutic interventions and support available for individuals with autism
• Unit 5: Communication and social interaction with individuals with autism
• Unit 6: Safeguarding and resilience in autism

This qualification aims to:

• Develop learner’s understanding of how individuals with autism may be vulnerable and the support worker’s role and responsibilities relating to safeguarding according to legislative requirements.

The objective of this qualification is to:

• Develop learner’s knowledge of how to adopt a positive approach to supporting individuals with autism.
• Allow learners to gain an understanding of the current legislative framework relating to individuals with autism and how different theories have developed over time.
• Educate learner’s on how to support and manage transitions for individuals with autism.

Learning method:
Studying via Remote E-Learning means you can choose when and where you study. We ensure that you get all the support you need throughout your course in the form of a personal tutor.

During your course, a member of the team will contact you at least once a month. It is important that you are available to respond to this communication.

To help you stay on track, you will be provided with unit submission deadlines. Your first unit must be submitted within four weeks of your enrolment date.
