Engineering student from Riverside College is awarded a Student Excellence prize.
Robert Owen, a student at Riverside College has just received a prestigious award from The Institution of Engineering & Technology.
Robert, who is previously from The Grange High School, is just about to complete the final year of his BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering. He was presented with the Local Network Prize for Student Excellence which is given annually to an outstanding student from the region studying subjects within the field of engineering and technology.
Mike Ashurst, Head of Engineering at Riverside College said, “Robert has worked extremely hard throughout his two years at Riverside and thoroughly deserves this prestigious award. He has demonstrated an outstanding level of motivation and commitment on what is a very demanding, academic course and all of the staff are extremely proud of his achievement.”
“Robert has decided to apply for an Apprenticeship in Engineering with Riverside College in order to gain some more practical skills before he goes to university. All of the Engineering staff are confident that Robert will go on to achieve further success and we would all like to wish him the very best of luck for the future.”
