Beauty students at Riverside College help to raise funds for Fanconi Hope Charity.
Riverside College students, lead by beauty tutor Emma Wilkinson have organised a Hair and Beauty event to help raise funds for the Fanconi Hope charity.
The event, planned for week commencing 20th May will take place at the College and the hair and beauty students will offer different treatments to the public with proceeds donated to the charity.
Emma, who as well as teaching in the Centre of Excellence in Hair and Beauty at Riverside College, owns her own salon and a similar event she held there was a roaring success. She mentioned the idea to some of her students who were really keen to help out.
They are offering different treatments including a non surgical face lift and microdermabrasion were clients will receive a complimentary back, neck & shoulder massage with both treatments. A facial with free applied make up, a mini facial with a free file & polish included, a full body Swedish massage with a free Indian Head massage and a free conditioning treatment with a cut and blow.
Louise Parry, Treasurer of Fanconi Hope said, “Riverside College will be holding a variety of events in support of Fanconi Hope. This is such a fantastic support to the charity, as in addition to raising money, which is always welcome, the events also raise awareness of the condition and the charity.
“I became involved with the charity in 2008 when they supported me after my daughter was diagnosed with Fanconi Anaemia. I started fundraising for the charity and then became treasurer in 2011.
“The money raised from the Hair and Beauty Event will be used to support the families of anyone diagnosed with Fanconi Anaemia and also to fund research to attempt to find a cure to this condition and other related genetic concerns.”
Louise Wilkinson, Riverside College tutor said, “We would like to encourage as many people as possible to book treatments during this week. Not only will they be receiving fabulous packages but they will be contributing to a fantastic charity. To book please call 0151 257 2011 or take a look at the treatments available on www.riverside.ac.uk .”
