This qualification is for those wanting to enter the Electrical industry. It gives you the opportunity to pick up some core skills and knowledge and gives you the opportunity to progress onto our Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification providing a Function skills level 2 Maths is achieved.
These qualifications are aimed at learners who want to learn the basic skills and knowledge of Electrical Installation.
If you are enrolled on the Electrical qualification, you will study wiring and terminals, fabrication techniques, and electrical science and technology.
The qualification consists of the following core units:
- Structure of the construction industry
- Fundamental safe working practices
- Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
- Site preparation in the construction industry
What will this course lead on to?
On successful completion of this courses you could progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation, subject to meeting the Level 2 entry requirements.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a number of modular exams, production of a portfolio of evidence, observations during practical sessions and a range of course work assignments.

Entry Requirements:
GCSE grade C/4 English and maths OR Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths OR achieving Level 2 in English and maths on our college assessment. You will also be required to pass a specific maths test related to this course.
