Returning to the Classroom: How Riverside College Is Changing Adult Learner Lives
Adult students are returning to the classroom to build on their qualifications and take the next step in their careers by enrolling on Higher Education courses at Riverside College. These programmes, delivered across both Riverside and Cronton College, continue to change lives, giving people the chance to progress straight from sixth form, upskill in their current industry or take a completely new career direction.
With flexible HNC, HND and degree-level courses in Computing and IT, Education and Teacher Training, Health and Care, Media Makeup, Construction, Engineering, and Sport, students can grow their confidence, develop new skills, and open doors to exciting opportunities.

The recent National Student Survey (NSS) results show just how powerful that experience is. Riverside College and Cronton College students achieved a 100% pass rate, with 83% high grades and 40% earning First Class Honours. The colleges were also rates 100% for how easy it was to contact teaching staff and how often their course pushed them to achieve their best.
An impressive 96.8% of higher education students agreed their course developed the skills they need for the future. Student feedback highlighted passionate, supportive tutors who are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in learner success. Many described the college as welcoming, supportive, and a great place to study.
These outcomes confirm that continuing in higher education or returning to the classroom can open new doors, support career change, and build confidence at any stage of life.
