College Buses Update
Dear Parents,
Following the closure of Halton Transport, the College has acted quickly to work with new service providers who have taken over the bus routes in order to minimise disruption.
There are now a number of different transport providers who have taken over the work of Halton Transport. All of the timetables (including the College services) can be found on Halton Borough Council’s website by clicking here.
The College has secured a new deal that ensures students can continue to travel for FREE* on the College’s contracted services (39 to 49 and Anthony’s Travel) AND the public services now being provided by Warrington’s Own Buses and Ashcroft’s Travel.
Students should pick up a College bus pass as normal from reception.
All other services have been taken over by Arriva. For information on Arriva bus passes please click here, weekly tickets can be purchased on the bus for and for information on the Merseytravel £2.20 daily My Ticket click here. There are a number of options available to students, I would advise phoning Arriva if you are unsure which will be the best value.
Any students who previously had a free Halton Transport pass who do not live within a reasonable walking distance of any of the contracted services, Warrington’s Own Buses, Ashcroft’s or Anthony’s Travel services, are advised to contact us, please read the information below if this applies to your son/daughter.
Please read if you can no longer access free travel:
Students who previously had a Halton Transport College bus pass who do not live within a reasonable walking distance of, or have another reason why they cannot access, the free services will be looked at on a case by case basis.
Please note we will only consider financial support towards travel if you cannot access a free service to get to College at the beginning and end of the College day (9am to 4.30pm) with the exception of any students who are timetabled in the evening.
If this applies to you please email buses@riversidecollege.ac.uk with your student number, name and date of birth by midnight on Monday 10th February.
We will review your travel options and respond to you by email with a decision on whether the College can support you.
