What is this course about?
This course is ideal for anyone who wants to work as an electrician. On the course you will learn, develop and practice the skills required to succeed in this industry. This Level 2 course will develop practical and theoretical electrical skills covering topics such as electrical science, electrical installations technology, installation of wiring systems, solar photovoltaic, micro-renewable energies and communication within the building services/engineering industry.

Entry Requirements:
GCSE grade C/4 English and maths OR Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths OR achieving Level 2 in English and maths on our college assessment. You will also be required to pass a specific maths test related to this course. Learners may also enrol on this course after successful completion of an appropriate Level 1 programme of study (completion of an electrical unit as part of the course is essential) and a successful interview.
What will this course lead on to?
On successful completion of this courses you could progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation. Alternatively, you could also apply for an electrical apprenticeship.
What will I learn on this course?
On this course you will learn how to work safely and competently in an electrical engineering environment and develop the practical skills essential for employment in the industry.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a number of modular exams, production of a portfolio of evidence, observations during practical sessions and a range of course work assignments.
