The Early Years and Education department at Riverside College offers students exciting and innovative courses which will enable students to gain the nationally recognised qualifications which are essential to succeed in this industry.

More than just a course
Gaining practical experience is vital in the Early Years sector and our courses provide students with exceptional opportunities through our extensive placement programme at Levels 1, 2 and 3. Students will undertake placements in a variety of settings such as nurseries, children centres, and reception classes.

Entry Requirements
Level 3
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 9 – 4 including a grade 4 in English language and Maths. Students must also have a clear DBS.
Level 2
A minimum of four 9-3 GCSE subject grades including English Language and Maths. Students must also have a clear DBS.
Level 1
A minimum of four 9-2 GCSE subject grades, including English Language and Maths.

At Riverside College, you can progress through the levels from entry to level 3. By achieving qualifications in Early Years and Education you will be able to start your career in a wide range of fields such as primary teaching, early years practitioner, learning support, or social work. Following the Level 3 you can progress to a BA Hons degree in areas such as Primary Teaching, Nursing, Child Psychology, or Social Work.
