What is this course about?
This course is suitable for beginners who have no experience of cake decorating skills. This course can be a skill added to any catering portfolio or for those wishing to pursue it as a leisure activity.

- Flower crafting
- Modelling figures
- Creating a decorated cake
There are no formal entry requirements.
What will this course lead on to?
This qualification can lead onto other professional or leisure courses including, an Introduction to Professional Cooking Skills or Award in Patisserie and Confectionery. You may wish to further develop your skills in cake decorating to start you own business.
How will I be assessed?
During your programme, you will be assessed by observation of your practical skills and creating a small portfolio of your work.

The cost for ingredients is approximately £15 paid on the first evening of the course, to be confirmed at enrolment.
We have excellent facilities including a large pastry kitchen and a production kitchen. The Scholars restaurant facility is both modern, luxurious and meets industry standards.
