I joined Riverside College in 2013 as a Lecturer in IT, teaching on a range of different courses and levels. When I started at the college, I also began teaching on HND Computing and Systems Development (Year 1) and then went onto deliver on the and lecture on the successor course HND Computing in 2017. Since 2020 I have been a lecturer on BSc (Hons) Computer Science Top-Up.
In 2014 I became the e-Learning champion for IT and Computing, working with the Head of Digital Learning to support academic staff within my own department to embed digital learning strategies into their teaching, as well as delivering cross college training.
In the first year of the HND course I deliver an extended Programming, Databases and Web Development project where students develop a prototype eCommerce website using a range of web technologies and programming skills. In HND Year 2, I deliver Computer Architecture and Robotics.
I also lecture on the Final Year Project on BSc (Hons) Computer Science Top-Up, supporting students to build on the web technologies they learnt in HND Year 1 to build a Progressive Web Application, and also continue to develop students’ knowledge of Networking through the lens of Cloud and Virtualisation.
