I work in the college as a L6 trainee careers advisor. Since graduating from university I have worked in different roles mainly supporting young people; To raise their aspirations and support progression into positive destinations, whether that be higher education, employment or further training, such as apprenticeships. I have had the opportunity to gain experience over the years of working on both Riverside and Cronton campus. Offering information, advice and guidance to students from a variety of back grounds and with varying skills and abilities. From this I have been able to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience about the barriers students face when thinking about their options for the future and supportive methods needed to succeed.I am passionate about working with young people supporting them to reach their full potential and progress into positive destinations, what ever they may be.

My background has been working with both adults and young people. I am a graduate in Early Childhood studies, where I worked a lot with 0-8 year olds in education provision. I have spent the majority of my 4 years working at the Cronton Sixth Form Campus, where my main roles have been to support students with progression into HE, run events and sessions to provide students with information on their options after college, give 1-2-1 guidance surrounding HE, the HE application process, seeking and applying for apprenticeships and other related guidance. I have previously had a big input into the Prestigious Universities programme, supporting those students who wish to attend Oxford/Cambridge University or those who wish to apply for Medicine/Veterinary/Dentistry courses. I have also had a big input into WP programmes, to support those students who wish to attend HE, who due to previous circumstances may not have felt as though they could access the provision, i.e. Care leavers. I have undertaken numerous CPD opportunities to learn more about working with those with mental health issues, safeguarding and similar. More recently, I have been working cross campus which has allowed me to experience the breadth of students we have. I really enjoy watching a student work right up and achieve a positive destination.
