Celebrating the Opening of The Catering Cup Café
Today we proudly opened The Catering Cup Café, a space created with our community and for our community.
This café began as a simple idea just one year ago, and thanks to the energy, commitment, and belief of so many people, it has grown into a place where our Foundation Studies students can gain real‑life work experience, build confidence, and shine.
Cath Mannion, who has been instrumental in setting up this project, shared:
“The Catering Cup Café will empower our students with real-life skills and confidence, while becoming a welcoming hub that brings the wider community together through food, learning, and shared experiences.”
We were honoured to welcome The Worshipful, The Mayor of Halton Councillor Pamela Wallace, who officially opened this exciting new venture.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life, especially Alison Watson, Adam Hindhaugh and Cath Mannion. Your support has made a real difference.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible organisations and individuals who have generously supported the Catering Cup Café. Special thanks to Ditton Community Centre, Halton Family Hubs, Public Health, Halton Housing, The Wonky Garden, Widnes in the Community (Tesco), Asda, TLW Contractors, GJ Flooring, Howdens, Halton Library, and our wonderfully generous local residents. Your donations of equipment, time, expertise, and materials have played a vital role in bringing this project to life.
Our Foundation Studies students have named the café, designed the logo, completed their food hygiene qualifications, and helped prepare the space. We couldn’t be prouder of them.
The café will reopen fully when students return in September and will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10.00am to 11.30am during term time. We hope you enjoy visiting The Catering Cup Café and continue to join us as it grows.
Here’s to creating opportunities, one cup of coffee at a time.
