SPAX UK Ltd help construction students gain industry experience

Leading screw and fixings supplier, SPAX UK Ltd, have given construction students at Riverside College the opportunity to try out the latest joining technologies, with product demonstrations and practical sessions at the College.

SPAX UK Ltd Sales Manager, David Andrews, worked with students to explain the benefits of the company’s new products in different installation scenarios. The students then had the chance to try the products for themselves, gaining vital experience to help prepare for future careers.

John Wardropper, Joinery Lecturer at Riverside College, said “Today’s session has been a great way to introduce the latest construction technologies to our students and for them to gain a taste of industry experience. Enrichment activities such as this play an important part in preparing our students for the world of work.”

David Andrews, Sales Manager, said “SPAX UK Ltd were very happy to be invited by Riverside College to present our range of products, and give the students the opportunity to try the SPAX range of screws for themselves.

“We will continue our relationship with Riverside College, by supplying screws for the current students to use in their everyday training, and for future students also.”

The College’s construction and engineering facilities have recently undergone major refurbishments, with £3.6 million invested in creating a new Skills Centre for students.

Following the session, each student was provided with SPAX promotional materials such as t-shirts and mugs. The company also donated some of their screw products for students to work with.
